Inspection Summary on 20201022 by Capstone Technician ASE J.Hesse: Summary – Bays A, B, D, E. Performed Extended Storage Maintenance on Bay A, B, D, E consisting of removing plastic covering to access and open bay door. Removed engine air filter and intake sealing cap to access the powerhead (turbine) and its desiccant packs. Using a C200 manual engine rotation tool, rotated the engine and verfied the air bearings were free. Replaced powerhead desiccant packs. Re-installed the intake sealing cap and secured. Re-installed the engine air filter and placed warning label. All system/Bay hours: 0. No fault codes.
Output: 480V 3 Phase 50/60 hz selectable. 760 kW nominal power output.
Dual Mode: Can be used with the grid, or completely off-grid in a stand alone configuration. Grid Connect (480V 3 phase) and Stand Alone (400-480V 3 phase). KVA 760 Grid Connect / KVA 832-1000 Stand alone.

Drying Hemp in a Container Kiln Dryer with a Capstone Turbine C800:
Using the Capstone Turbine to dry hemp in combination with a conveyor dryer or drum dryer, expect the following throughput based on 970 btu to evaporate 1 pound of water. The Capstone Turbine exhaust can be mixed with dry outside air to direct heat a hemp dryer. Alternatively, put output into a stainless steel pipe and then use fans to circulate and heat air in dyer. This is in the true sense cogeneration (produce both usable heat and power at the same time). The power can be used to run fans, or exported to the grid for utility buyback (typically more hassle and low buyback rate than it’s worth). Because this is dual mode, you can trailer mount this module along with a trailer mounted drum dryer or conveyor dryer module for portable drying (bring to the farm fields directly). You will need a propane tank trailer and associated interconnection equipment to fuel system. Alternatively, you can truck in the hemp flower from the fields in a hub-spoke system.
