16 2.4.5 Effects of temperature in graphene exfoliation The motivation behind this study were the findings by Abu-Rahmeh et al [29] where it was found that cavitation increases with temperature and flow rate. To understand the effects temperature on graphene exfoliation an experiment was design using the kitchen blender setup. In this experiment, temperature was assigned to be the independent variable while the Raman spectra data gathered of the graphene samples were treated to be the dependent variable. The graphite solutions were prepped in a flak before being introduced to the blender. Experimental group’s solution was heated while in the flask. Both solutions of the controlled and the experimental groups were blended at a constant speed for 30 minutes. After which samples were collected.
