This NSC line is capable of self-renewing and differentiating into neurons and other glial cells (astrocytes and oligodendrocytes) that intermingle with host tissues by repairing nerve damage and improving neurogenesis and axonal growth. Carbon-based materials, including carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, and graphene have been used as reported to hold potential neutral applications due to their unique electrical, mechanical, and biological properties. It has been demonstrated that electro spun carbon nanofibers (ECNFs) which were fabricated by annealing electro spun polymeric nanofibers can support human endometrial cells to generate neuron-like cells showing great promise in neutral regeneration (Zhu et al., 2018).
