the Capsuhelic assembly is presented on [104]). This displacement has a linear relationship with the applied pressure difference, as the pressure distribution is uniform on the diaphragm. [105] U-shaped tubes are placed before the DPG to host vacuum pump oil between the acidic solution and metal compartments of the DPG due to their low chemical tolerance to sulfuric acid. Vacuum pump oil is metal-compatible and immiscible at atmospheric pressures with sulfuric acid. However, the pressure at the high-pressure line allows sulfuric acid diffusion in the vacuum pump oil and forces sulfuric acid leakage into the DPG. Additionally, it forces some portion of the vacuum oil to be forcibly mixed with the electrolytes. Therefore, recharging the vacuum oil is necessary after a couple of experiments. Figure 3. 6. DPMA system. The acid leakage in DPG corrodes the diaphragm, introducing systematic errors. Silicone rubber is resistant to sulfuric acid; however, the diaphragm support is composed of steel, susceptible to 40
