4.5 Sensitivity analysis The purpose of a sensitivity analysis is to investigate the effect that a change in efficiency or pressure loss of a component will have on the efficiency of the engine cycle. This is useful for example when determining whether the cost of developing more efficient components, will pay back in a more efficient engine. Table 22 shows the change in efficiency and pressure loss of certain components and the corresponding change is SFC at design point.
