a Tektronix DPO3054 oscilloscope. The surface temperature measurements during anti-icing and deicing period are also carried out using the FLIR T660 thermal camera. The working distance of the camera is also 500 mm, as shown in Fig. 1 a). The distribution of the actuators on the cylinder surface is shown in Fig. 3b. For each test, the air flow velocity and temperature is fixed without water vapour spraying, when the tunnel conditions and the surface temperature of the cylinder model are stable, the spray system is activated and lasted for a certain time. The surface temperature of the cylinder is recorded by the infrared camera, the real icing phenomenon on the cylinder surface is recorded by Cannon EOS 550D. A multi-actuator model is tested for plasma deicing test. A single-actuator and a multi-actuator model are tested for anti-icing test. There are 6 exposed and 7 covered electrodes wrapped with Kapton dielectric film around the surface of the cylinder for the multi-actuator model. For plasma anti-icing test, the surface temperatures of the cylinder changing with the AC voltages are recorded. III. Results and Discussion A. Dielectric Temperature Measurements in Quiescent Air In the first part of this study, surface temperature measurements were performed in quiescent air, for several amplitudes of the high voltage. The center frequency in the test is constant, which is 13.4 kV. It has been detected that the temperature appears to be quite homogeneous along the span (y axis), the surface temperature distributions only along the chord (x axis) is presented in this study.15 Fig. 4 shows the spatial evolution of the dielectric surface temperature at different operation times and same voltage and frequency. It shows that the surface temperature of the actuator is about the room temperature when the plasma actuation is off. Seven typical measured points with even spaces along the chord of the plasma actuator are chosen. It shows that the surface temperature increases with the operation times and voltages.
