a relative slow and steady increase. Table 1 shows the temperatures at seven reading points along the chord at different operation times for Vp−p = 15 kV. It can be seen that the maximum temperatures are 96.4 ◦C located at x = 0 after 25 s plasma actuation. With first 0 - 5 s actuation time, the temperature increases from 29.6 to 77.2 ◦C, the increment is 47.6 ◦. For the last 20 s actuation time, the temperature increment is 19.2 ◦. In researches of Stanfield et al.,16 the distributions and the magnitudes of the rotational temperature measured by using emission spectroscopy for the AC-DBD actuator are matched well with the present infrared imaging results, but the plasma vibrational temperatures is almost 40 times of the surface temperature of the actuator, so for AC-DBD plasma actuator, the surface temperature of the actuator is determined by rotational temperature.
