In this case, a frequency of 16 kHz is predicted, in good agreement with the experimental data. Similar predictions about the low-frequency oscillation behavior of Hall thrusters from the 2-D HPHall code are shown in Fig. 7-20, where the anode current and beam current are plotted versus time. The predicted frequency in this case is 11 kHz, which is less than the value shown in the example of Fig. 7-18.
