The run time for the R­ 22 heat pump is 40 minutes longer than for the CO2 heat pump and the operating time for the in line heater in the R-22 system is 10 minutes longer than for the CO2 system. Therefore it can be seen that the CO2 system will be more efficient than the R-22 system because of its higher COP. The total running time of the ILH system is much less than for both the heat pump systems, showing that the ILH system is keeping up well with the hot water demand. The total power consumption for the summer day period is shown in table 4.3. It shows that the R-22 system uses about 4% more power than the CO2 system.
