HPWH Performance Report Kelowna Site 3 is an un-ducted unit with a warmer inlet air temperature of 20.5°C on average throughout the day and only 424 litres of water draw. Because of the high inlet air temperature and lower draws (15 litres/minute max), the unit operated in heat pump mode all except after a series of water draws in the late evening in which the electric element switched on to provide supplemental water heating. With the heat pump primarily providing the hot water, the measured daily COP is 1.97 compared to 0.90 at site 4. Additionally, the electric element did not run at all during the evening peak window of 4-9pm.
