HPWH Performance Report Figure 18 shows the percentage of time each of the Rheem units spent in each heating mode. The total amount of time heating water is similar for all sites (34%-43% of the time). The primary difference between sites is the proportion of time is spent in Heat Pump mode relative to Electric Element mode. Sites with low air temp and high water draws such as Kelowna Site 4 spend more time operating with the element on than warmer sites such as unducted Kelowna Site 3.
