Among the 35 new fluids are five single-compound refrigerants, HCC-1130(E), HFO-1132a, HCFO-1224yd(Z), HFO-1336mzz(E), and HFO-1336mzz(Z). The newly introduced molecules, HCC-1130(E), HCFO-1224yd(Z), HFO-1336mzz(E), and HFO-1336mzz(Z) have relatively high boiling points, making them relevant for high temperature heat pumps and centrifugal chillers. HFO-1132a is a flammable (safety class A2) high pressure fluid, with a boiling point of -86.7°C it has potential to be used in cryogenic applications, as well as a component in new refrigerant blends, for instance to replace R-410A. The remaining 30 refrigerants are blends. Of these, 21 are blends of traditional HFCs and either HFO-1234yf or HFO-1234ze(E). Seven are blends of traditional HFCs, some containing low levels of hydrocarbon to facilitate oil-miscibility. One blend, R-514A, is a mixture of the newly introduced molecules HFO-1336mzz(Z) and HCC-1130(E), this blend has a boiling point of +29°C and like its constituents is relevant for high temperature heat pumps and axial turbo (centrifugal) and hybrid turbo chillers, as are its components Table 2-4: HCC-1130(E) HFO-1132a HCFO- 1224yd(Z) HFO- 1336mzz(E) HFO- 1336mzz(Z) Table 2-5: Data summary for new single component refrigerants CHCl=CHCl CF2=CH2 CF3CF=CHCl CF3CH=CHCF3 CF3CH=CHCF3 trans-1,2-dichloroethene 96.9 47.7 B2 1,1-difluoroethylene 64.0 –86.7 A2 (Z)-1-chloro-2,3,3,3- 148.5 14.5 A1 tetrafluoropropene trans-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro- 164.1 7.4 A1 2-butene cis-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2- 164.1 33.4 A1 butene 4.0 0.004 <1 <1 days 22.0 0.07 26 days Data summary for new zeotropic refrigerant blends R-407G R-32/125/134a (2.5/2.5/95.0) 100.0 –29.2/–27.2 –44.7/–37.6 –39.8/–33.0 –41.5/–39.5 –50.1/–46.0 –46.1/–40.2 –44.6/–38.1 –51.0/–50.3 –47.5/–44.2 –42.2/–35.0 –48.4/–41.6 –50.9/–50.0 A1 1 400 A1 1 500 A1 1 400 A3 1 A2L 750 A1 1 400 A1 1 200 A2L 710 A1 2 200 A1 1 700 A2L 250 A2L 490 3 800 3 800 3 800 1 2 200 3 200 2 900 2 100 4 100 4 100 890 1 700 R-407H R-407I R-436C R-447B R-32/125/1234ze(E) (68.0/8.0/24.0) 63.1 R-449B R-32/125/1234yf/134a (25.2/24.3/23.2/27.3) 86.4 R-449C R-32/125/1234yf/134a (20.0/20.0/31.0/29.0) 90.3 R-452B R-32/125/1234yf (67.0/7.0/26.0) 63.5 R-452C R-32/125/1234yf (12.5/61.0/26.5) 101.9 R-453A R-32/125/134a/227ea/600/601a (20.0/20.0/53.8/5.0/0.6/0.6) 88.8 R-454A R-32/1234yf (35.0/65.0) 80.5 R-454B R-32/1234yf (68.9/31.1) 62.6 R-32/125/134a (32.5/15.0/52.5) 79.1 R-32/125/134a (19.5/8.5/72.0) 86.9 R-290/600a (95.0/5.0) 44.6 2018 TOC Refrigeration, A/C and Heat Pumps Assessment Report 43 Refrigerant Designation Refrigerant Designation Refrigerant Composition (Mass %) Chemical Formula Molecular Weight (kg/kmol) Molecular Weight (kg/kmol) Bubble Point/ Dew Point (°C) Safety Class Safety Class GWP 100 Year GWP 20 Year Radiative Efficiency (W/m/ ppm) Chemical Name Boiling Point (°C) Atmospheric Lifetime (Years) GWP 100 Year GWP 20 Year
