Method and characterisation 3.7.3 Graphene Oxide/Nafion Modified Binding Layer Graphene oxide (GO) was mixed with Nafion solution in different weight percentage to optimize the weight of GO loading into Nafion solution for fuel cell operation. The wt% of GO were 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0, and 10.0 wt%. The following steps were carried out to fabricate GO modified binding layer: Nafion solution (0.486 g, 5% in a mixture of lower aliphatic alcohols and water, sigma-Aldrich) was mixed with acetone (5.0 ml) for 5 min Graphene (0.0036 g) was added to the mixture to obtained 0.5 wt% of loading. The mixture was sonicated and stirred for 2hr at interval of 2 hr to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Membrane was sprayed on the anode electrode after the catalyst layer. 3 layers of modified binding layer were coated on the electrode surface; each layer is followed by drying at below 80°C in oven for 10 minutes.
