Results and discussion than SUFLO-MOR MEA. The standard MEA still shows the highest conductivities among all the three MEAs through the fuel cell operating temperature. The proton conductivity in the fuel cell can be affected by the water content in the membrane in DMFC. The water content in the membrane depends on the amount of SSA sulfosuccinic acid containing sulfonic acid group [177]. To investigate the change in power density of the 1.0 wt% SULFO-MOR, the proton conductivities of all other MEAs along with the 1.0 wt% SULFO-MEA were plotted in one graph. The ideal operating temperature of DMFC in this work was found at 70°C. Therefore, looking at the proton conductivities at 70°C shows that the 1.0 wt% of the SULFO-MOR was the lowest among all the MEAs. In another word, the proton resistive of 1.0 wt% SULFO-MOR MEA was greater than other MEAs, which increased the ohmic loss in the fuel cell thus dropped the power density.
