The route studied was an actual voyage from Zeebrugge, Belgium to Philadelphia, USA with characteristics shown in Table 3.12. The distance and time were obtained from marinetraffic.com and average speed was calculated. Average shaft power and energy used were obtained using Equation 3.2 and Equation 3.3, respectively.
