With the support of an ambitious Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), the development of geothermal resources continues to move forward in California. In 2005, California’s Energy Action Plan recommended a state RPS goal of 33% of electricity generation from renewable sources by 2020 and in April 2011, the goal was codified by Governor Edmund Brown.5 The following table identifies 33 projects being developed by 14 different companies and organizations.
