For the options large scale dedicated power and CHP, district heating and digestion the efficiency improvements in new installations could also be considerable, but the future installed capacity of these installations is difficult to estimate, therefore this data is not included in the table. Concluding it can be stated that the largest gains in end-use efficiency improvement can be obtained through use of heat in new installations and in residential heating. These options do all consist of significant compliance costs (except for the residential heating options). However residential heating options might be more difficult to realize due to the dispersed target group (as indicated through the higher administrative costs accompanying these options).
