2. Task 1 Results As described in the Task 1 report, Preferred Plant Size, the optimum size for a parabolic trough project with thermal storage was determined to be in the range of 200 to 250 MWe. For the purposes of Task 1, a detailed capital cost estimate was developed for a nominal 250 MWe plant with 3 hours of thermal storage.
