In both areas, energy produc- tion from the solar power plant due to clouds and haze reduces output by about 20% in December and January. The summer monsoon season in July adversely impacts the solar resource in the Phoenix area when, on average, the output of a solar plant drops to 86% of the plant’s nominal rating. In Daggett, the output drops to the middle of the 90th percentile. In early fall, the expected solar output would be expected to be in the low 90th percentile in Phoenix but in the high 90th percentile in Daggett. For the amount of energy that can be generated from a solar power plant in a month, the sea- son, clouds, and shorter days affect the output.
