Existing Energy System 4.2.1.Basic Configuration of Existing Energy System The diesel generator plant is located about 4.5 miles from the wind turbine site, with an existing feeder line (voltage 12.5 kV, 3 phase) capable of carrying up to 2.5 MW. Power for the KEA grid is generated by the diesel generators at 4,160V and stepped up through transformers to 12,500 VAC, three-phase, three-wire for distribution throughout the town.
