Fig. 6.87 shows the variation of solar radiation intensity on the total exergy destruction of the system. As shown in this figure, an increase in solar radiation intensity results in an increase in total exergy destruction rate of the system. This is due to an increase in solar exergy inputted to the PV/T and flat plate collector which increase the exergy destruction of the system. It is also observed that an increase in condenser temperature leads to an increase in the total exergy destruction which is due to an increase in exergy input to the condenser which is a result of an increase in condenser enthalpy. This results in an increase in exergy destruction rate for the condenser. Figure 6.87: Effects of varying solar intensity on the total exergy destruction of the system. Fig. 6.88 shows the variation of solar radiation intensity and condenser temperature on the total cost rate of the system. It is observed that an increase in solar radiation intensity increases the total cost rate, but not considerably. The main reason is due to an increase in absorption chiller which will affect the cost of the single effect absorption chiller which results an increase in the total cost rate of the system. It is shown that an increase in solar radiation intensity about 700 W/m2 results in an increase in total cost of the system less than 3 $/h.
