Rig test results verified the analytical model. Analytical model was further refined according to the rig test results. Flow bypass and incomplete contact between the core segment degrades the performance severely. Variable fin height makes more uniform air side flow distribution, especially with the variable fillet. Variable fin height has higher effectiveness with higher pressure drop. Air-Channel-Insert (ACI) geometry is critical in performance of the recuperator.
