A typical example of energy mix obtained from the updated UK energy projection shows an energy mix of 30% coal, 17% nuclear power, 37% natural gas, 11% renewable, 3% imports, 0.57% oil and 0.85% pumped storage, with CO2 emissions of 394 g/kWh (Gibbins et al., 2006). Using the electricity generated from the dual heat source ORC system under investigation to displace the electricity generated through the energy mix would give a CO2 reduction of 549,945.20 kg/year.
