in a steam generator, and then the refrigerant steam is converted to mechanical energy by expanding it through a twin-screw expansion system. After the working fluid is expanded through the expander, it is condensed by passing through another heat exchanger. This time the hot refkigerant is on one side of the heat exchanger, while cold water from a cooling tower is on theotherside. Therefrigerantiscondensedasitpassesthroughtheheatexchangeranditis pumped back to the evaporativeheat exchanger, and the cycle starts again. The twin-screw expander turns an AC generator that produces three-phase electrical power at 480 V and 60 Hz, whichissynchronizedtothegrid.
