Members’ News & Views peNtair HaffmaNs wiNs its first uk biogas upgraDiNg coNtract springhill Farm in worcestershire is to become the first uK biogas upgrading plant to use Pentair Haffmans’ technology, producing 1,630,000m3 of biomethane per year and recovering 4,200 tonnes of Co2. Installation is scheduled to begin at the end of the year, with commissioning expected in the first quarter of 2013, and the system is set to become the first in the uK to feed biomethane into the gas grid while also recovering Co2 which will be used as natural fertiliser for tomato cultivation in the farm’s greenhouses. “This is an important step towards strengthening our presence in the uK renewable energy sector, following our activities in the Netherlands and germany,” says Haffmans mD olaf muller.
