Exergoeconomic analysis Exergoeconomics is an exergy based method that identifies and calculates the location, magnitude, causes and costs of thermodynamic inefficiencies in an energy conversion system. Exergy represents the commodity of real thermodynamic value; therefore, exergy is the only rational basis for assigning monetary values (exergy costing principle). Outputs: 1. Exergoeconomic analysis is conducted at the component level and identifies the relative cost importance of each component. 2. It provides the allocation of cost (or environmental impact) to the different products if more than one product is generated (examples CHP or CCHP plant).
