The connections and the apparatus types are the same as in the previous analysis as well. The system efficiencies for the cycle with a recuperator can be seen below in Table 2.9. With the recuperator the generator can produce about 13 more kW than the cycle without. The pump also consumes more power with the addition of the heat exchanger but it only consumes about 3 more kW’s than without the recuperator. The increase in pump work is due to an increase in the optimum mass flow rate calculated by Cycle-Tempo. Even though the recuperator increases the work input to the cycle the overall increase in the amount of power produced by the generator is greater than the increase in the power consumed by the pump. This means that the recuperator is a great addition to the cycle to increase the power produced. The next values found from Cycle-Tempo are the completed energy balance for the cycle.
