However, potential increases in temperature and sea level will vary greatly, depending on the intensity of fossil fuel-based human activities during the next century. • The probability that this is caused by natural climatic processes alone is less than 5 percent. • During the Twenty-first Century, world temperatures could rise between 1.1 and 6.4 °C, causing the following changes: 1. Sea level will probably rise between 18 and 59 cm. 2. Statistically, warm spells, heat waves, and heavy precipitations will be more frequent (confidence level: >90 percent). 3.
