This report shall provide a brief overview of the geothermal energy data, such as installed capacities, produced electricity and heat, supplemented by political and economic information relevant for the development of geothermal energy in GIA member countries. There are plans to extend this data collection to include non-GIA Member Countries, if reliable data can be obtained. The first annual trend report of geothermal applications data is planned to be published in 2011 utilizing data from 2010. 6.2 Progress in 2010 Annex X was initiated at the end of 2010. The first work performed in the context of this new task was the definition of objectives, means, form of results, and obligations and responsibilities of the participants. A short description of structure, objectives and programme of work of the new annex was included in the GIA ́s Mid-Term Report. 6.3 Highlights and Achievements In May 2011, a first concept for a data query and a future ―GIA Trend Report‖ was presented to the GIA participants at the 25th ExCo meeting at the IEA Headquarter, Paris. The concept was accepted by the ExCo and the first Annex X data collection started with the distribution of an Excel data sheet at the beginning of July 2011 to be completed and returned to the Annex Leader within six weeks. The distributed questionnaire contained questions on geothermal applications, developments and supplementary information. The main contents are shown in Figure 6.2.
