During an April 14, 2009 meeting with Geothermal Task Force members and in follow-on conversations with City employees and others, it was emphasized that the contractors should focus on the resource and the technologies available to beneficially and economically develop it and to address, but not dwell on, potential legal and/or ethical conflicts related to water-rights, existing users, etc. Essentially, the Task Force wants to now how many British Thermal Units (Btus) may be available and how much it could cost to beneficially utilize this thermal energy.
