Using Various Waste Water Sources In addition to the many small natural thermal springs and seeps that flow into the Colorado River as described in the geology section of this report, there are two main waste water streams discharging into the river. These both originate from the Pool on the north side of the river – one from the Yampah Spring itself, estimated at 120oF and 600 gpm (however, this is a variable flow, depending upon the pool demand), and a second that is waste water from the pool being discharged to the river. The latter empties downstream from the pool, at an estimated 90oF and at an approximately flow rate of 2,000 gpm (most likely with some residual chemicals from the pool).
