STATUS Well(s) or hole(s) drilled Motagua LOCATION INSTALLED CAPACITY (MWE) POTENTIAL (MWE) TEMPERATURE (EC) INSTALLED CAPACITY (MWE) POTENTIAL (MWE) TEMPERATURE (EC) 0 30 114-210 STATUS Preliminary identification/report 0 - - CHRONOLOGY 1972 - Geothermal investigation began by INDE covering an area of 1000 km2. 1974 - Prefeasibility study of an area of 330 km2 began. 1975 - Electroconsult (Italy) contracted to evaluate and complete preliminary feasibility study; 12 gradient and 2 large-diameter wells (INDE-1 and INDE-2) were drilled over an area of 10 km2. The highest temperature found was 114oC at maximum depths of 797 and 1000 m. Concluded that the area did not offer good prospects for power generation and suggested relocation for additional studies.
