CONFIDENTIALITY OF DATA Viewing, borrowing or sampling of confidential petroleum mining samples is restricted to the titleholder(s) who obtained the samples or other persons nominated by them. Please direct requests for approval to view, borrow or sample petroleum mining samples to petdata@dmp.wa.gov.au and provide the following information: • name, address and country of the company or person seeking access; • title number; • well name(s); • description and details of the samples (including depths where appropriate); • details of level of access required (i.e. viewing, borrowing or sampling); • confirmation that the titleholder requesting or approving access approval was responsible for the drilling of the well; and • evidence in the form of a letter from the titleholder that access is approved by them (if the mining sample is confidential). Part IVA of the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967 applies. 5.5 DEFINITIONS OF NON-DERIVATIVE (BASIC) DATA Section 112 of the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967. Data falling into the following categories will be released subject to any qualifications indicated below, in accordance with the provisions of the Acts. 5.5.1 Gravity/Magnetic surveys All data other than potential field qualitative and quantitative interpretation maps and reports. 5.5.2 Seismic surveys All data other than: www.dmp.wa.gov.au | 13 5.3 petdata@dmp.wa.gov.au and corelibrary.requests@dmp.wa.gov.au Export of Petroleum Mining Samples Division 3 of Part 8 of the regulations require instrument holders, who have conducted drilling operations, to seek approval prior to exporting confidential samples from Australia. Please direct requests for approval to export of confidential samples to: petdata@dmp.wa.gov.au and provide the following information: 5.4 5.5.3 • • • seismic picks, correlations and stratigraphic units on section; time/depth contour maps; and interpretation reports. Lithological data All data other than core analysis studies carried out by oil company research units utilising propriety techniques.
