Issue (2) from above can be observed from the data shown in Figure 7-1. This was resolved by installing a stiffer relief valve spring in the pump, Blackmer part number 471428. The pump was then capable of producing a pressure differential of 1.03 MPa. Figure 7-1: Pump Speed, Flow Rate and Differential Pressure. Note differential pressure peaking at 0.5 MPa and flow rate dropping repeatedly while pump speed is constant. This indicates the pressure relief valve was opening repeatedly.
