The plant will be constructed by EQTEC Iberia and Energia Natural De Mora and the commissioning is planed for May 2008. The electrical output is calculated to 5.9 MWel along with the production of 5600 kg/h of saturated steam at 6 bar(g) and 159 m3/h of water at 90°C for the distillery process. The fuel that will be used is bagasse from the distillery process. This will solve the waste and liquid effluent problem for the distillery along with a production of renewable energy, [45]. Technical Description The plant consists of four fluidized bed gasifiers developed by Energia Natural de Mora. The gasifier consumes 4000 Kg/h of biomass and produces a gas with a lower calorific value of 5.5 MJ/Nm3. The cleaning system consists of gas coolers, bag filter and an ash cooler system. The electricity is generated with three Jenbacher 620 gas engines. Which are turbocharged and have double stage aftercoolers. The heat from the engines are used for steam-, hot water generation and also to concentrate the liquid effluent, [45]. System Performance As previously mentioned, the plant will commission in May 2008, hence no performance data is available. However Energia Natural De Mora has designed the plant to operate 7800 hours annually on automatic mode.
