Many of the applications identified may produce heat resources >300°C, which are more appropriately serviced by other heat recovery methods – steam generation, pre-heat combustion air, etc. In addition, there are power and size implications, as manufacturing applications may require much smaller systems than, for example, geothermal power plants. Considerations on technology complexity have been made and are reported in the following table. Geothermal applications have been identified as the least complex, since they have been largely developed in the last few years and the system provides an ideal range of temperature for ORC and OFC system (50-300°C). Technological complexity considerations include considerations on the installation experience and the learning curve in building ORC installations, which for most of the applications is not as well developed as it is for geothermal. 23
