Len’s biggest piece of advice would be to test the market but spend more time figuring out a way to sell it. Interview Details: • There are two competitors Doortec & Turboden (these are in the paper that Len sent me) • The data was based on combined heat & power • There really is no usable heat in some of the applications that he’s looked at • If system components in a technology like ours can be reconfigured to have a higher heat input upfront similar to the Turboden & Doortec designs, he thinks there may be something valuable there • It gets down to cost benefit analysis and how much of the technology has some parasitic components • Even with that high of a temperature input, an intermediate conductor is required and that is why Turboden & Doortec originally teamed up on the silicon oil fluid • The way the flash cycle is proposed, there may be some issues in running the thermal fluids through our system • To use waste heat, you have to realize that the waste heat is sporadic...doesn’t run 24/7 o The ROI does not look as attractive anymore especially in light of electric rates o The key thing to promote this: Higher electric rates Temperature of water at conduction range; • Pratt & Whitney used HVAC as part of the components • Everything is technically possible but it will require a lot of work • This may be conducive to solar thermal applications but that really narrows the list of potential applications • With electric rates we have it’s just too tough for even Len to go out and try to sell their product 55PDF Image | ElectraTherm Commissions 10 Green Machines
