Interview Details: • Damien’s people would look at this technology across a number of different platforms • The first thing they would do is have their engineers check the technical aspects with regards to the process overview • Compare benefit vs. construction cost • Damien is based in Mulhouse area in France • On the waste heat recovery market the power range is very small so as a result o There are lots of players in the market that provide different levels of efficiency • For waste hear recovery there is something different compared to the renewable energy sector o 7-10 years is the payback period that you look at in renewable o In waste heat recovery though, the payback period is 2-3 years, max of 5 years • In the renewable energy sector what they are looking at is geothermal o In Europe, most of the plant sizes are in the 5MW – 10MW o In the US and Asia, they look at 20MW – 50MW • They are also looking at concentrated solar power as well but their initial research shows that the market size is very small • They also look at ocean conversion technology • Another sector is biomass but they are not too involved in this sector • Waste heat is what they look at outside of renewable energy o Specifically, they are looking at cement technologies o Also looking at engine exhaust and gas turbines as well • They were originally looking mostly at turbogenerators but are now looking a lot more at the ORC Interviewee: Name: Lance Woolley Title: Product Technology Manager 64PDF Image | ElectraTherm Commissions 10 Green Machines
