About 70%of the available height is retained above the inducer while the line pressure drop is moved from the inducer inlet t o the outlet. Task 111 -Analysis of POGO Oscillation An analysis was performed t o determine i f a low-speed inducer located in the J-2s LOX feed line could alter engine feed system frequency response characteristics. From the results, which express gainand phase of engine thrust relative to an input representing the vehicle structural acceleration, the following conclusions were drayna. 1. The gain and phase of engine thrust to structural acceleration can be significantly altered using a low-speed inducer located in theLOXfeed line upstream of the main pump. 2. The low-speed inducer fluid inertance and the main pump inlet compliance cause a system resonance. If the frequency associated with this resonance is low, a beneficial gain reduction above this frequency is achieved. Therefore the inducer fluid inertance and the main pump inlet compiiance are key parameters. The resonance resulting in the maximum gain is caused by the low-speed inducer inlet line. Therefore,the low-speed inducer i n l e t compliance i s a key parameters 4.
