It should be noted that the inducer inlet line pressure drop which is eliminated is added to the line co the inducer and main pump., However, the total frictional pressure drop is not increased, hence, the main pump inlet pressure w i l l be no lower than with the inducer located some distance from the tank. The significance of the above results is that an engine with a low- speed fuel inducer designed for high head can be successfully started at very low or zero inducer NPSP. In a vehicle installation, the acceleration w i l l generate some inlet pressure so that the inducer w i l l see zero NPSP only at low speed and flow.
