Customer Reports Reports completed by USDOE-certified Energy Experts will be provided to the customer, to the USDOE, and to SAIC. Reports will be confidential. The reports to facilities will include oral and written presentations of data, findings, recommendations, energy savings, project costs, and project economics (including net present value of savings and customer payback). Oral reports will be presented to as many of the critical energy management personnel in the facility as possible. These reports will continue in the standard USDOE format. Written reports will be sent to the USDOE by the Energy Expert/Qualified Specialist in accordance with USDOE requirements for review and editing. SAIC will comply with any USDOE interface requirements, including data entry training, customer report filing, report editing, customer tracking, and composite results reporting. Reports of the results of ESAs completed under this pilot program will include: plant information, savings estimates, recommendations, plant decision criteria, and the disposition of any recommendations. Each report will include summary results, such as overall savings potential, actual implemented savings, and feedback on the program process to date. Planned and implemented projects will be recorded in the existing Focus program tracking database. In addition, a separate spreadsheet on projects will be developed and maintained. This spreadsheet will include contact information for company, specialists, and apprentices; the type of assessment completed; scheduling information; energy savings potential; recommendations; planned and implemented projects; and savings. The final report will also include a brief internal assessment of the program with recommendations for further improvement. Focus Interface and Project Follow-up SAIC will communicate ESA information through the Focus Industrial program to enable Focus Energy Advisors to provide customers with additional technical support, internal business case promotion, and project funding. The Focus central office will coordinate with the appropriate Focus Advisor and the Qualified Specialist to be part of the presentation of results to the customer. The Focus Advisor will promote those resources that the customer may need to get projects implemented. Focus will provide technical engineering and program support for customer ESAs through its field energy advisors. These advisors will be notified of upcoming ESAs for their account customers and will attend at least the final oral report to the customer, as time permits. The energy advisors will follow up with the customer at the necessary level of decision-making in order to support the recommendations from the ESA report and offer any available Focus grants and services. In the process, energy experts and Focus advisors will identify the individual customer’s internal barriers to developing projects based on ESA recommendations and ascertain ways to overcome those barriers. Some suggestions may include using existing ITP resources, such as software tools, and identifying additional technical or grant support through Focus. Energy Advisors will also provide internal customer support for the business case presented to management decision-makers. Additional customer support may include verification of savings after project implementation and special customer recognition for the achievement. If recognition is in order and desired both energy savings and reduction in the customer’s carbon footprint will be considered. SAIC will also survey a sample of ESA participants, Energy Experts, and Focus Energy Advisors, to evaluate the effectiveness of the ESA services and determine ways to improve them.PDF Image | Focus on Energy
