Pilot ANSI Certification Program This proposal will also build on the Wisconsin initiative to work with the ANSI to pilot its Accredited Plant Certification Program. Wisconsin will field test the standard at four to five facilities, selected by SAIC and Focus that would be good candidates for this pilot. The pilot will include training, the established system assessment standards and the measurement and verification procedures that have been established by the USDOE. The pilot would also incorporate the Georgia Tech coaching element. Focus Industrial will cost share about 25 percent of estimated costs. Administration and Reporting SAIC will provide up-to-date information on implementation progress for the various aspects of this program, including project development, promotions, training activities, technology demonstration and commercialization development activities, ANSI pilots, continuous improvement efforts and all other aspects of this proposed program to the OEI, at least on a quarterly basis, and to the USDOE, as requested. Communication with the USDOE will conform to the protocol specified through the MOU. At the end of each program year, SAIC will provide an oral and a written progress report featuring achievements, program successes and challenges, to the USDOE at the site that USDOE designates. Roles, Responsibilities and Capabilities The management and implementation team will include: • John Nicol, Focus on Energy Industrial Sector Manager, will oversee the entire project and help direct design, promotion and coordination. • Craig Schepp, Focus on Energy Industrial Central Operations Manager, will be the key point of contact with both the OEI and with the USDOE. He will also collect information on all aspects of ESA development and provide timely progress reports of results and of pilot program progress, success, and challenges. He will also provide coordination support for USDOE training events. • Tim Dantoin, Focus on Energy Field Operations Manager, will support field efforts for ESAs, technology demonstrations, and ANSI pilots. • USDOE Energy Experts and Qualified Specialists will lead facility ESA implementation and be assisted by Focus Advisors. This pilot will rely on local Specialists when possible. In addition, recently graduated Qualified Specialists from Wisconsin will provide ESAs for less complicated (and perhaps, smaller) facilities. This special ESA activity will also provide experience necessary for Qualified Specialists to submit application to USDOE to become certified Energy Experts. Qualified Specialists in the steam system and pump system assessment areas from USDOE. • Nate Altfeather, and other Focus on Energy Advisors, will provide promotional support at the front end and project implementation support at the back end to implement the recommendations from the ESAs.
