Main St. Rm 429 Madison, WI 53702 Dear Judy: This is a letter of support for the participation of Focus on Energy’s Industrial Program in your proposal to the USDOE program: Save Energy Now: State, Regional and Local Delivery – Funding Opportunity Announcement Number: DE-PS36-08GO98033. We realize that this proposal will greatly enhance the State of Wisconsin’s effort to improve industrial energy efficiency through a close and complementary relationship among Focus on Energy, the Wisconsin Industrial Energy Group and the DOE Industrial Technology Programs (USDOE ITP). Over the past three years, DOE and Focus have shared in funding about 50 Save Energy Now Energy Savings Assessments, has supported several specialized USDOE trainings in fan, compressed air, pump, and fan systems; and has helped best practice technologies and promoted many emerging technologies. The relationship has helped Focus leverage program savings as well as supported EPAct goals. Focus will lend it support through continuing to co-fund ESAs at a potential cost-share of about $180,000 over three years. Focus’s industrial program will also provide up to $30,000 for up to five ANSI pilot demonstration sites. Finally, Focus industrial will provide up to $74,000 worth of in-kind personnel support and supplies to help develop and manage the field and central office components of the Wisconsin ESA program. The total amount of anticipated cost share for these efforts is $284,000 over three years. We are pleased to support and participate in the proposed project. Sincerely; John Nicol, P.E.
