Main St. Rm 429 Madison, WI 53702 Dear Judy: This is a letter of support for CleanTech Partners participation in your proposal to the USDOE program: Save Energy Now: State, Regional and Local Delivery – Funding Opportunity Announcement Number: DE-PS36-08GO98033. We understand the proposal will build on the unique relationship Wisconsin Focus on Energy has developed with the DOE Industrial Technology Programs (USDOE ITP) over the last several years. Benefits of that relationship have included increased Save Energy Now Energy Savings Assessments (ESAs), support of best practice technologies and promotion of emerging technologies. The capstone of this relationship is a signed Memorandum of Understanding between State of Wisconsin and USDOE ITP formalizing a set of energy efficiency goals. Our participation in the project will consist of four technology demonstrations and efforts to commercialize several emerging technologies. The demonstration technologies fall into two broad categories; online control technologies that respond in real time to keep processes operating in tight control and heat recovery technologies that turn waste heat into electricity and/or chilled water. On the commercialization side, CTP has a proven model of vetting and commercializing emerging technologies that includes technical and business case due-diligence and developing financing mechanisms to support the new technology including loans, grants assistance, equity placements and leveraging of state and local programs.
