The PureCycle® geothermal system uses the heat from a geothermal source to vaporize a fluid with a lower boiling point. The vapor creates pressure to power a turbine which generates electricity. UTC Power is continuing to develop the PureCycle® geothermal power solution and has plans to introduce it into the commercial market- place soon. The PureCycle® geothermal unit at Chena was officially unveiled in early August and has been operating with 99% availability.
