UTC Power develops proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell technology and manufactures fuel cells for next-generation automobiles. UTC Power has worked with many of the world’s major automobile manufacturers – including Hyundai, Nissan and BMW – as well as the U.S. Department of Energy, on development and demonstration programs for automobiles. Fleet Vehicles. UTC Power has supplied zero-emission fuel cell power systems for several transit bus programs at locations including California, Connecticut, Spain, Italy and Belgium. The fuel economy of hybrid fuel cell buses powered by our PureMotion® Model 120 system is nearly two times better than a diesel-powered bus. UTC Power is playing a significant role in the U.S. Federal Transit Administration’s National Fuel Cell Bus Technology Development program and has been awarded three contracts that will add five more hybrid fuel cell buses in California and Connecticut. On-site Generation Products PureCell® Combined Heat and Power Solutions. Our ultra clean and quiet fuel cells will provide up to 400 kW of assured electrical power plus up to 1.7 million Btu/hour of heat for combined heat and power (CHP) applications. UTC Power has installed more than 260 stationary fuel cell systems for customers in 19 countries on five continents; the fleet has attained more than 8 million hours of field operation. PureComfort® Combined Cooling, Heating and Power Solutions. UTC Power provides and services ultra clean, integrated combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) systems for the on-site power commercial marketplace. When a UTC Power PureComfort® system is integrated with a facility’s central heating or cooling system, the efficiencies can exceed 80 percent, resulting in substantial energy cost savings. PureCycle® Geothermal Power Solutions. This system provides 24/7 power generation using heat from the earth, the most dependable form of renewable energy available today. Its closed-cycle process uses geothermal water at temperatures as low as 200°F (93°C) to generate 280 kW (gross) of electrical power with zero emissions. The modular, pre-engineered design eliminates costly and time-consuming site engineering for each installation. It also ensures reliable and consistent power system performance.
