6th International Ege Energy Symposium & Exhibition FOREWORD It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 6th International Ege Energy Symposium and Exhibition (6th IEESE), Ege University, İzmir-Turkey, from June 28-30, 2012. 6th International Ege Energy Symposium and Exhibition is a multidisciplinary international symposium and this symposium intended to bring together both northern and southern hemispheres of the world to explore new ideas, to share new concepts and to meet new challenges in achieving efficient energy systems, from production to utilization. In particular, carbon capture &storage/carbon market/low carbon economy, cogeneration and other systems, combustion technologies, electricity generation, distribution & power quality technologies, energy and environment, energy economy, energy efficiency and management, energy policy, legislation and regulation, energy R&D project financing, energy storage, exergy and exergoeconomics, fossil fuels, heating ventilation and air conditioning, life cycle assessment , nuclear energy, renewable energy, biomass / geothermal / photovoltaic / solar thermal / tidal / OTEC / wind, smart-grid and transmission, thermodynamics, heat&mass transfer,fluid mechanics applications are topics of interest. Main objectives of the symposium have been to provide a firm bridge between north and south in the field of symposium topics of interest technologies, to provide forums and to encourage dialogues at all levels, thus stimulating the professional communities and enhancing technical activities in the field, and to accelerate developments, innovations, implementations of R&D and exchange of information in the field. These Proceedings contain the invited and research oral and poster papers presented at this congress. We hope that they will be a useful reference for all participants, as well as for those who were not able to attend 6th IEESE. 6th IEESE, has received considerable international attention from all over the world. The number of abstract was received 230 in total of which 168 were accepted for oral presentation and 34 were accepted for poster presentation under a strict review policy. In addition the 6th IEESE features 3 keynote speakers by well respected scholars. We would like to thank to this keynote speakers Prof. Dr. İbrahim DİNÇER, Prof. Dr. Galip AKAY and Prof. Dr. Jinyue YAN. We would like to thank to the Organizing Committee members and members of the Local Committee for their help in contributing to the successful organization of this meeting, all authors for the excellent work, significant inputs and support to this conference, chairpersons and attendees whose their contributions and efforts have made this great success posible.
