Expander shaft output power Expander supply pressure : since the expander is a volumetric machine, it can absorb a fixed volumetric flow rate. In order to make this volumetric flow rate fit to the mass flow rate, the supply pressure has to be adapted. This explains why the supply pressure is also an output of the model. Identification of the parameters. The model contains 3 types of parameters : Known parameters Calculable parameters Unknown parameters These parameters are given by the constructor or can be directly measured on the device. This is the case for the builtin volume ratio for example. These parameters don't have to be identified. These parameters can be evaluated. This is the case for the ambient losses heat transfer coefficient for example. These parameters are not given and can't be calculated. This is the case for the coefficient of the wall fictitious heat transfer for example. Those parameters have to be identified from the measurements.
