This model has three objective functions: ο· πΉ1: Total to static efficiency ππ‘π ο· πΉ2: Turbine power output πππ’π‘ ο· πΉ3: Power densityπππ’π‘ ππππ₯ The results of the three objective functions are briefly presented in Figure β5-12. Figure β5-12ashows the results when πΉ1 is selected as the objective function. The optimum efficiency obtained is 74.4%, 71.8% and 70.1% whenπΉ1, πΉ2 and πΉ3 are selected, respectively. The high value of πΉ1 is due to the low enthalpy losses shown in Figure β5-13. The optimisation of πΉ1 results in low absolute velocity at turbine exit πΆ5 and, hence, low exit loss, as shown in equation (β5-94).
