Lieblein (SP-36 Ch. 6, 1965) correlates minimum-loss incidence for a 2-D cascade as shown in Equation 2.13. L =(.8)(.9)(L)+Qθ (2.13) In Equation 2.13, (L ) is the minimum-loss incidence, (L) is the uncambered minimum- loss incidence for a 10% tmax/c for a NACA 65A10 airfoil, (.8 ) is the correction factor due to thickness distribution, (.9) is the correction factor due to the actual tmax/c, (Q) is the slope of the incidence angle variation with camber, and ( θ ) is the camber angle. Both Lieblein (SP-36 Ch.7, 1965) and Hearsey (1970), using corrections based on inlet relative Mach number, adjusted the minimum-loss incidence (i*) described in Equation 2.13 to apply to a 3-D cascade.
